Hilderstone Radio Society operate special events which occur at some time during the weekend, and may go on over the week if there is sufficient interest.
Operating Events
These operating events go on throughout the summer months, and involve setting up and operating a Amateur Radio station in a range of locations which include:
- Drapers Mill, Margate
- Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum, Manston
- North Foreland Lighthouse, Broadstairs
Contests
There are many contests that take place throughout the year which the club sometimes participates in. Contesting is another facet to the hobby and can be fast paced and exciting.
Mini DX-pedition
A group of club members visit the North Devon coast and take over a large farm for a week with big antenna systems and high power equipment. This is a very fun even and a great learning opportunity.
